Classic French

Croissant
The golden, crescent-shaped laminated pastry that defines the French breakfast β layers of buttery dough folded and rolled repeatedly to create a flaky, shattering exterior and a soft, airy interior. A perfect croissant, fresh from the oven at a proper boulangerie, is one of the simplest and most exquisite pleasures in French gastronomy.

Baguette
The iconic long, thin loaf of French bread with a crispy golden crust and a soft, chewy interior β arguably the most recognizable symbol of French food culture. A baguette tradition, made with only flour, water, salt, and yeast, has been UNESCO-listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2022.

Crepes
Thin, delicate pancakes made from a simple batter of flour, eggs, milk, and butter, served sweet (crepes sucrees with sugar, Nutella, fruit, or ice cream) or savory (galettes de sarrasin, made with buckwheat flour and filled with ham, cheese, and egg). Crepes are France's most beloved street food and Brittany's proudest culinary export.
